Elsa Dorfman
Elsa Dorfman was a Boston-based photographer who had great success with her enlarged Polaroids. With these pictures, she said, she wanted to capture people “just as they were.” She gained fame and critical respect with pictures of celebrities (Bob Dylan, Faye Dunaway), and then used her lens to capture many of her Gay and Trans friends, as well as cataloging many people living with AIDS. She presented a world as it is, and left behind a unique history.
